When you read the article attached to the link above you will be left asking the same question I did - how does the budget have anything to do with removing these animals from the endangered list. And why is congress involved in this decision? (it's the first time they have ever been involved in removing an animal from this list)
The budget rider on the wolves, backed by two Western legislators — Senator Jon Tester, Democrat of Montana, and Representative Mike Simpson, Republican of Idaho crossed a line that should not be crossed by congress or any political branch. And this is just how legislators "sneak" actions through -- but attaching them as riders so when the entire bill gets passed this sails through on it's coattails. Quite frankly, it's outrageous this should be allowed and shame on congress for letting this happen. What can you do? Visit Defenders of wildlife, fill out the letter to congress and send it. It costs nothing. It says so much. Less than 10,000 actions are needed - Help save our wolves now. And let Congress know this is not their decision.
