First the pets - Years ago my daughter begged for a tea cup pig- showing me adorable photos of little pink pigs in teacups and cuddled in blankets. The problem is pigs don't stay little - and many sellers of pigs falsely advertise, which means soon the buyer winds up with a 150 pound pig. Just like you shouldn't buy chicks and ducks at Easter, no one should buy a pig unless they fully understand what they are getting themselves into - do you have the room for a grown pig, can you give it the attention they need (they are very smart) - shelter, food, etc.
The unfortunate answer for most people is no - and then the question is where do these pigs go? Well one spot is Ironwood Sanctuary in Arizona. A very big thanks to Mary Schanz and Ben Watkins for taking in unwanted pigs and giving them a loving home. But they can't do it alone - so consider a donation for this year to help out a pig in need - www.ironwoodpigsanctuary.org
Now for the food part -
